I care about the children and families of Harris County. I have dedicated my legal career to serving the public. I understand the challenges that the modern family face. I will make decisions that fits your situation while following the law.
All children need love. Adoption is a fundamental necessity in our society. According to www.dfps.state.tx.us/PCS/Regional_Statistics, as of June 2017 2,386 children in Harris County were in foster homes. Michelle will not automatically disqualify any person from adopting a child based solely on their age, marital status, or sexual orientation. Michelle believes children and families should be reunified, if it is safe to do so.
Michelle will work with local law clinics to seal the records of juveniles who qualify. This service will be offered free of charge. She will also utilize mentor programs for youths who are in the juvenile justice system.
Michelle believes a 3 prong approach is key when working with our troubled youth: rehabilitation programs + mentorship + education.
Michelle recognizes being in a court of law can be very stressful. Knowing this, she will treat each person who comes into the 314th with dignity and respect.
